Department of Speech Therapy

There isn’t a more valuable gift than having the ability to communicate properly with family, friends and community. Any kind of speech or hearing impairment can stop you from reaching your life’s true potential. Our team of skilled speech therapists and audiologists have the essential skills to prevent, diagnose, monitor and treat communication disorders. Through our state-of-the-art clinical and research programs, we investigate a diverse range of disorders which can affect the communication skills and quality of life of our patients.

The speech therapy team at Hameed Latif Hospital consists of five speech therapists working full-time. An occupational therapist and a psychologist are also on board with the team for their comprehensive analysis. Our speech therapy clinic offers professional and specialized care for both children and adults.

When should you refer to a speech and language therapist?

There can be many reasons for a child to be referred for speech or language therapy. Many families are mistakenly neglectful towards their child’s speech-related problems and do not seek professional care timely. The parents are often focused on the child’s other medical conditions or therapy needs that they overlook the fact that speech and language therapy is their child’s immediate need.
